Micron reveals new impact partners: The 2024 Micron Gives ERG Grant Recipients

 Rosita Najmi | January 2025

As the head of Social Impact and the Micron Foundation, I’m thrilled to announce we’ve provided nearly $500,000 in grants from the foundation to nonprofit organizations across the world that Micron’s employee resource groups (ERGs) selected. These impact partners align with our ERGs’ core values, addressing the unique challenges faced by their beneficiaries near Micron sites everywhere. Each of our 10 global ERGs, with chapters across 12 countries, were empowered to localize their influence and selected 46 unique nonprofits in the communities near them to receive funds and become our partners in impact.

Micron’s ERGs represent more than 56% of our global workforce, serving as ambassadors of inclusion and champions of underrepresented voices. Our ERGs play a crucial role in guiding our philanthropic initiatives, ensuring our support reaches organizations that create meaningful change. This year, we’re also thrilled to celebrate the formation of our 100th regional ERG chapter. Our global network reflects a powerful collective commitment to making a difference.

I’m deeply proud of the partnership efforts of our Micron Foundation and our Micron ERGs. Together, we have committed to making a positive difference in our local communities, ensuring our support reaches organizations that create meaningful change. Our ERG leaders and members are a driving force behind the success of our team member volunteering and giving initiatives. This shared commitment not only strengthens connections within our workplace but also leaves a lasting, positive impact on the communities we serve. This program is one example of how we utilize participatory grantmaking to insure we are aligned to the needs of the populations we serve and helps to shape our giving.

Our inclusive giving process is designed to empower our ERGs to lead with purpose. There’s something really powerful about people coming together who have a shared geography, a shared affinity, a shared sense of belonging and being able to serve and give together. By listening to their insights, we ensure that our philanthropic efforts are driven by those who are closest to the needs of the communities we serve. This continued investment underscores our unwavering dedication to fostering a more inclusive, equitable and sustainable future for all.

Nonprofit organizations are vital to building healthy communities and providing essential services that promote economic stability and mobility. Similarly, our ERGs serve as cultural architects, playing a key role in advancing our inclusion strategies. From encouraging professional development to identifying diverse suppliers, ERGs integrate inclusive practices into our daily operations, ensuring that inclusion is central to how we work.

In collaboration with our impact partners, we strive to amplify their efforts by mobilizing resources and connecting them with other organizations to facilitate collective action and elevate opportunities. By channeling support to these nonprofit organizations, we empower the communities where we live and work, addressing critical needs where they are most urgent. As we look ahead, we remain committed to continuing our work, advancing a culture of inclusion and giving, while ensuring that our contributions create lasting, transformational change.
